Rationale
The Magma Systems Academic Group was established to primarily conduct fundamental/basic research and train students in igneous petrology, geochemistry, and volcanology, in different tectonic settings, in order to understand the earth's evolution and ore forming processes. The group also aims to apply state-of-the-art ideas and techniques from the members' combined expertise in igneous petrology, geochemistry, and volcanology.
